Spring 2019 edition of the e-IRG Magazine available

2 Jul 2019 The Hague - The e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) has published a new edition of the e-IRG Magazine. And the word "new" should be taken seriously since the Magazine has been restyled. Readers will get a whole new experience when browsing the e-IRG Magazine. The Spring edition is now available for download.

Highlights include summaries of the e-IRG Delegates Meetings which both took place in Vienna, Austria; an overview of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and ESFRI developments; a summary of the innovations in the e-IRG Knowledge Base; and an overview of the research infrastructure and e-Infrastructure developments in the different European countries.

This e-IRG Magazine edition also contains interviews with Gustav Kalbe, Head of the High Performance Computing and Quantum Technologies Unit at the European Commission, explaining the working and operations of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking; with Juan Bicarregui, coordinator of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Pilot project about the EOSC science demonstrators; with Joeri van Leeuwen, a Dutch astronomer about the LOFAR and APERTIF telescope systems and their FPGA/GPU technology; with ETP4HPC members Axel Auweter from MEGWARE, Fabrizio Magugliani from E4 Computer Engineering and Pascale Bernier-Bruna, Communication Officer for ETP4HPC about opportunities for European SMEs in EuroHPC; with Dieter Kranzlmüller, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre on the Generic Research Data Infrastructure (GeRDI); and with Guy Lonsdale, CEO of Scapos, on FocusCoE, the Concerted action for the European HPC Centres of Excellence.
